There were reports that careers will make their way to The Sims Social sooner or later and requests for careers started to be heard ever since the game was launched on Facebook and Playfish did not play deaf. They were secretly working on bringing Careers to Sims Social and today they have posted a teaser, an image that you can see below, showing that careers are coming to The Sims Social - maybe even with today's update!
As we can all see, one of the Careers that we'll get to follow in The Sims Social is Burger Flipper, not the most attractive of them all (hopefully), and certainly just one of many that we'll get to somehow unlock in the game.
Even more, we see that Career Points will be introduced in The Sims Social, but right now we have no idea what these are exactly.
However, one thing is clear now: Careers are coming to The Sims Social sooner rather than later and I'll make sure to keep you updated on this matter!

The Sims Social Toyota Prius Is Nice, Temporary and Gives Energy
We've been waiting for cars to be introduced in The Sims Social for quite a long time now and we finally have it: the Toyota Prius is here in the game as a reward for completing the Green Up Your Act missions. Although it is really easy to get, I have decided to share with you the details about the Toyota Prius and answer some of your questions.
Oh, yes, and start with an image of the Toyota Prius (courtesy of quintesqe):
Now, the biggest question about the Toyota Prius is: will we keep this car forever?
Unfortunately, the answer is negative. The Toyota Prius can only be kept for two weeks in the game. It's just a promotion in the Sims Social.
However, there is a good thing about the Sims Social Prius: you can collect daily from it and it rewards some much needed energy! So don't put it in storage just yet (you lose the counter and have to wait again for the bonus), just keep it near the house - it's a little gem!
Are you happy to see the Toyota Prius in The Sims Social, even though just temporarily?

The Sims Social Visiting Rights Mission - Invive Friends Over!
Playfish has decided to launch a very interesting feature in The Sims Social this week, the ability to invite friends over at our house by clicking a single button. This action is really helpful as it speeds things up a bit, allowing you to complete missions faster, since you can now ask friends to come over and perform the required actions at your house, without having to visit.
The new Invite Friends option in The Sims Social has been introduced by a new mission in the game, Visiting Rights that has 2 simple requirements:
- Ask a new Sim Over to Your House
- Do Somthing fun with the other Sim
If you want to start things in style, make sure to call your lover and Woohoo. I guess that's the funnest thing do be done anyway, right?
So if you were finding it difficult to visit some of your Sim friends because their houses took too long to load, with the introduction of this Invite Friends feature, everything will be faster and it will be easier for you to maintain a high profile social life.
Do you like this new option to invite friends over at your Sims house?

Alien Theme Might Be Coming to The Sims Social
It appears that it won't be long until aliens will be landing in The Sims Social and probably trigger an Alien Week theme sooner or later in the game, if we are to look at a fresh image that has been leaked from the Sims Social beta servers and published by The Sims Social Fansite.
The image, which you can see for yourself below, shows some strange looking garden drops in The Sims Social which some consider to be Asteroids or Meteors but at the same time they could be some sort of strange alien eggs or something... anything is possible! There are also satellites in the game that Playfish is considering releasing, so it's obvious that some sort of Alien theme is incoming.
However, it's not 100% sure that the image that you can see above will actually make it to the final game, as the developers always test out new stuff and decide not to release it. However, I guess that an alien theme would be absolutely amazing, so hopefully they will bring us cute little aliens to teach how to speak Simlish!
What do you think about the possibility of having a new Alien Theme in the Sims Social?

More Storage Is Coming to The Sims Social!
Storage in The Sims Social is becoming a major problem, even though Playfish has increased a while ago the storage capacity from 500 to 550 items. But with the themes delivering so many cool new items for our homes, it's no surprise to see that the regular players started, once more, to have problems with the Storage Space in the game.
However, we have some good news to share with you: Playfish has announced that they plan to increase the storage space, even though no exact release date for this feature was announced and no further details were given (so we don't know if we'll get an extra 50 storage space or extra 500 spots).
Games.com says that Playfish might consider simply deleting old items from the game to keep their servers light, but I doubt that such a measure would delight the players, if this means that they lose the items they have paid!
Either way, we'll see exactly what plans does Playfish have for the storage problem in The Sims Social when they decide to offer us something official. Until then, we can only hope that the storage problem will be dealt with as fast as possible.
What about you? Are you having trouble with the number of items you are allowed to store in the game?

Sims Social Infographic: Sims Woohoo 680,000 Times Per Day!
Electronic Arts and Playfish have released another really interesting infographic on The Sims Social, sharing with us some of the fun facts related to the game.
Reading the infographic below (click to enlarge), we find out that Sims whoohoo 680,000 times per day (which is not that much, actually, since there are so many millions of active players), the most popular personal trait in The Sims Social is Great Kisser (makes sense with so many woohoos happening) and the most popular item in the game is the Luxuriare Canopy Bed (again makes you think about sex).
Here's the complete Infographic about the Sims Social which reveals interesting details about the game:
What do you say now after reading it? Do you feel that you blend in with the majority?

Three New Christmas Crops Released in The Sims Social
There are three brand new crops that we can start planting in The Sims Social and at least one of them seems like the best thing ever because it also rewards us with three extra energy every time we harvest! I am sure that you're really curious to find out all the details about the new Christmas crops released in The Sims Social, so let's get it started!
Lettuce
Costs 8 Simoleons to plant, is ready in 30 minutes and rewards us with 55 Simoleons. Probably the one that we'll ignore because of the following crops which have a lot better rewards.
Energy Flower
Costs 23 Simoleons to plant, is ready in 1 Day and gives 78 Simoleons and 3 energy. A great way to start the day harvesting this Energy Flower!
Winter Pine
Costs 21 Simoleons, is ready in 16 Hours and gives 157 coins and 1 Ornament ingredient. I guess it will be really hard for us to decide which of these crops to plant.
My favorite of these three new crops remains the Energy Flower. What about you? Which do you like the most and which will become your number 1 crop to plant in The Sims Social?

The Sims Social Starts Dropping in the Charts of the Most Popular Facebook Games
November was not a good month for The Sims Social, even though the game's problem were not as big as they used to be and the freebies kept finding their way to our homes. However, despite the positives, The Sims Social started to sink a little bit in the most popular Facebook games chart and here is how things stand:
- In terms of Monthly Active Players, The Sims Social fell to number three, half a million behind FarmVille which managed to get an impressive 500,000 extra new players recently (probably due to the release of the Winter Wonderland).
- In terms of Daily Active players, things are even worse, with The Sims Social falling to number 5 behind 5 new Zynga games, including the recently launched CastleVille which is riding really high at the moment.
Here is a chart, courtesy of AppData:
What do you think is the possible explanation for the drop in Sims Social players?

Rumor Mill: Sims Social Christmas Mastery Skills Coming Soon
It appears that Playfish and Electronic Arts are preparing a lot of surprises to Sims Social players just in time for Christmas, and one of these surprises might be the introduction of Mastery Skills and Mastery Items that are of course holiday themed.
Rumor has it that these mastery skills will be related to the Christmas celebrations themselves and will include a social version of the Christmas Tree: we'll receive a basic tree at first and then work our way up by watering it and interacting with neighbors to turn it into the most beautiful Christmas Tree any Sim has ever seen (now try saying that fast!)
This is indeed really exciting and we can't wait to be able to give you some more and detailed information about the Christmas Mastery SKills and items in The Sims Social, so stay tuned with us!

What Do You Think about the Pink Paradise Theme in The Sims Social?
Well, boys - and especially girls, there's a brand new theme in The Sims Social this week and that is... the Pink Paradise theme! All of the items are pink, obviously and really sweet so if you wanted to turn your Sims Social house into a Barbie palace, now might be the best time.
In order to check out most of the decorations and new items available in The Sims Social for the Pink Week theme, you should hurry to check out the market or, even better, to see the items in full size, check out Bella's house (you can also see it below if you're too lazy to do it):
Personally, I think that the Pink Week theme in The Sims Social is really cute and comes with some really nice items (and clothes!) but what you think should matter most, so let us all know what your thoughts are in the comment section below!

Sims Social Changes Include Removal of +1 Return Energy Gift
The team over at Playfish have decided to tweak and polish The Sims Social a little bit and after offering us a ton of freebies, I guess they decided to upset us a little bit: several changes have been made to The Sims Social and, even though most of them are beneficial to the players, there is one specific change that will certainly upset many. Let's see what are the changes first:
- For returning +1 Energy Gift, you now receive 10 Simoleons (instead of 1 Energy)
- You get XP from interacting with neighbors
- Profits from harvesting crops have been raised
- When inspired, your Sim will get double the amount of money he or she would normally get
So as you can see, these are mostly good changes - from a player's perspective, except for the +1 energy thing that certainly makes things a little bit more difficult than before. But I am sure we'll eventually learn how to live with that, won't we?

In the Past 2 Weeks The Sims Social Lost Around 30 Million Players
I can only say that I feel cold chills on my spine when I look at these numbers: in the past 16 days, The Sims Social has lost almost half of its monthly active user base or around 30 MILLION monthly players! On the 15th of October the decline started with a huge drop of around 18 million players and kept going steadily until it reached this huge number. And today, there are just 38 million active Sims Social players, as opposed to the 65 million that was the peak of the game. And that's happening just months after this amazing game was released on Facebook. Here is the huge drop in popularity:
The exact reasons behind this super big drop in active players is not known, but it could be safe to think that the constant connection problems and other bugs like blue circles and being unable to fully experience the game was enough for many who stopped playing. Because a similar drop (even though not as big) was recorded for The Sims Social daily active players, with the numbers dropping from 10 to 7 million:
Do you have friends that have stopped playing The Sims Social? Do you know their reasons?

Get Your Cosy Crypt in The Sims Social, See the Sims Dance
A really amazing new building has been released by EA and Playfish in The Sims Social: the Cosy Crypt, a place that goes perfectly well hand in hand with the Halloween decorations and the overall Halloween celebrations in The Sims Social. Actually, it's such a nice building and Playfish likes it so much that they have decided to actually release a video to show us the spooky things that can be done inside the Cosy Crypt, so check out below:
Well, OK, maybe that was not that spooky, but it was incredibly fun! The Cosy Crypt is a place where your Sims will feel inspired and start dancing like Michael Jackson in his hit song Thriller. That's amazing!
Unfortunately, for those who are not keen on spending real money for The Sims Social, I have some bad news: the Cozy Crypt costs a whooping 149 SimCash. So is it cool enough for such a high price? That's just for you to decide!

The Sims Social Vampire Fangs Suggest Incoming Halloween Celebration!
Halloween is getting closer and closer and I am sure that you are really curious to know what kind of surprises do Electronic Arts and Playfish have in store for us for the first ever Halloween celebration in The Sims Social. Although details are scarce at the moment, we are pretty sure that we won't be left without some sort of Halloween celebration in the game: most likely decorations and costumes, maybe even a few Halloween themed goals!
But until then, probably to give us a hint that Halloween will indeed be celebrated in the Sims Social, the developers of our favorite game have already released the Vampire Fangs in the market which can be purchased by anybody who has 350 Social Points to spare. It's a really useful item to have, especially if you're a Twilight fan or you simply want to get ready for some classy Halloween celebration in The Sims Social!
Let us know what sort of content you'd like to see released in the game to celebrate Halloween!

Land Expansions Might Be Coming Soon to The Sims Social
Initially, it seemed that we had all the space in the world for our houses in The Sims Social but now, after getting more money in the game and building up the rooms, things are different. So it hasn't been long before The Sims Social players started to ask for some land expansions. But nobody actually expected them to be released so soon. At least this is what a few hints suggest.
First of all, we have one announcement made by The Sims Social development team themselves: "We're going to be adding something very cool that will help you build your dream home. What do you think it could be?"
And the obvious question would be land expansions (although some people are still thinking that we're talking about a second level added to the house). Still, our friend Coz Baldwin noticed a thing we missed:
You can now move around the "out of bounds" area a lot more? Unless I've just not taken notice to it up until now, perhaps they're gearing up to finally release some extra land to us to build on.
And this might indeed be the case. What do you think, though? Will be land expansions coming soon to The Sims Social or the developers were maybe talking about something else?

The Sims Social Insane Trait Improved, Must Have!
The Insane Trait in The Sims Social was a pretty interesting one and probably the most discussed Sims Social Trait because it was modified by the developers: initially, Insane Sims were able to talk to plants at no energy cost - which in turn increased the Social of the Sims. However, pretty soon Playfish and Electronic Arts have decided to make the "Talk to plants" option cost 1 energy, therefore making this trait a little less useful.
However, today Playfish announced that new changes have been made to the Insane trait: even though the energy cost for talking to plants remains, if you manage to upgrade the Insane trait all the way to level 4, you will be able to Talk To Yourself, an action that costs no energy and improves both you Social and the Food needs. Which makes the Insane Trait one that you should really have!
What do you think about the Insane trait and the bonuses it gives?
