In the Past 2 Weeks The Sims Social Lost Around 30 Million Players

I can only say that I feel cold chills on my spine when I look at these numbers: in the past 16 days, The Sims Social has lost almost half of its monthly active user base or around 30 MILLION monthly players! On the 15th of October the decline started with a huge drop of around 18 million players and kept going steadily until it reached this huge number. And today, there are just 38 million active Sims Social players, as opposed to the 65 million that was the peak of the game. And that's happening just months after this amazing game was released on Facebook. Here is the huge drop in popularity:
The exact reasons behind this super big drop in active players is not known, but it could be safe to think that the constant connection problems and other bugs like blue circles and being unable to fully experience the game was enough for many who stopped playing. Because a similar drop (even though not as big) was recorded for The Sims Social daily active players, with the numbers dropping from 10 to 7 million:

Do you have friends that have stopped playing The Sims Social? Do you know their reasons?

  1. I haven't been able to play as much recently, since returning to classes, but it's 1/2 term this week. I would blame it on start of school, if it wasn't in the middle of October! Uni students?
Most of my friends are regularly active, but if I do notice something I'll ask them.

  4. The timed quests. Four days? And the new timed Japanese quest is probably about to make me quit. It cost unreasonable amounts of money and clicks from TEN different friends. I have a Facebook account devoted SOLELY to the Sims Social, and it's really hard to get enough people to click, unless I tag everyone. I am not at all happy with the timed missions.

  5. I CAN'T play. If the game manages to get past 65% before experiencing a "snag" and having to be reloaded, then it displays my mailbox (currently containing over 69 requests or responses) for 2 or 3 seconds and then has to be reloaded. It's been like this since about a week before Halloween.

  6. probably, the main reason is the annoying "snag" in the sims social.

  7. there have been soooooooooooooooo many glitches lately. I sick of the games repeatedly messing up and needing to be reloaded. Maybe others have less tolerance than I do and decide to stop playing. Also, I find it aggravating that every single one of the desirable furniture or clothing items are only obtainable with SimCash. I like playing games but I don't want to be wasting real money to play an app. It just seems ridiculous. I might consider it if, fo example, you got 100 SimCash for $5.00 real money but I wouldn't spent more than 5 or 10 dollars on something so utterly frivolous.

  8. One reason a few friends quit, was that they couldnt stand the constant greening. Mostly people who never played the regular versions of The Sims, but even if you have played them and already understand the "needs" of a Sim, they de-green WAY too fast. Also, DEFINITELY the blue circles, hit a snag errors, and slow loading are reasons I've considered quitting.... I just dont have the patience for it. Ummmm, yeah the timed quests. Altho the more recent ones (dating service & simch part 1) have been better about that.

  9. Overall, there is TOO much reliance on having alot of neighbors, and on adding new ones. I realize its Sims "Social" LOL ... However most of my friends/family do not play games and I really hate adding strangers to my facebook, so I only have a handful of neighbors.. It would be SO SO SOOOO much better if the same friend could help again, instead of requiring each click to be from a different player. Dont know how many times I've been stuck for days waiting for that last click, and each time I post it, the SAME players are clicking it.

  10. There is too much reliance on having others click on your shares and with timeline... its not exactly easy to share anymore.

  11. It's a very fun game, but you have to rely on requesting too much of your friends.
The game is also bugging to the point where I cant click on my timeline to help those on my friends list.
