Guide Sims Social Careers: What Are Career Points and What Careers to Choose

Today is the big day when a game-changing feature launches in The Sims Social: careers. However, except for the fact that careers were coming in The Sims Social, not much else was known about this feature. Fortunately, the folks over at the Games.com blog had a chat with The Sims Social executive producer Chris White which has enabled us to deliver this guide to The Sims Social careers, answering some burning questions before the mega launch today.

How does the career system work in The Sims Social?

There are more career paths that we can start following in the game and confirmed are the following: Rock Star, Celebrity Chef and Art Master. There might be even more, but three would be enough to start with anyway because each career path will bring in a lot of advantages to players. For example, each career we choose will allow us to earn more Simoleons when using career-related items (using the guitar as a Rock Star, for example), and as we climb up the career ladder, we get more Career Points, we get unique items to the career we're mastering and even special interactions with friends.

So careers will not only be a means for us to make more money by going to work regularly, but also to brag with our achievements and compare our stats with those of our friends. Because now, near House Value, career levels will now be a means to compare with the success of our neighbors.

What are Career Points?

I was telling you yesterday that Career Points will be introduced with the launch of Careers in The Sims Social and I am sure you were curious to find out more about them. According to Chris White, Career Points are some sort of XP points - they are required for us to complete career quests and to be promoted to the next level. We will get double career points just for going to work on time, so the most active players should have no problem getting them soon.

What is the best career to choose in The Sims Social?

Any career that you feel it's right for you! The Sims Social will certainly make all the careers in the game to be pretty even, so it's best to choose what you like. Each career will introduce special interactions and items unique for that career, and the good news is that if you decide you no longer like your career, you can quit your job and start over. Indeed, you will lose your current level of the career you had (obviously), but at least you and your Sim will be happy.

What do you think about the Career System in The Sims Social? Do you like how it sounds so far?
